The ADHD Coaching Course

Essential foundations for ADHD Coaching

Evidence-based learning from introduction to your first coaching clients

Course Summary

Our ADHD coaching course is a 12 week programme of online, facilitated sessions, designed to equip you with everything you need to start working as a coach with clients or colleagues.

You will work as part of a group of 8-20 learners, sharing perspectives on coaching, getting invaluable practice and hearing evidence-based information on coaching and ADHD throughout the course.

ADHD is a watermark that runs through this programme and you do not need formal, prior knowledge of ADHD or coaching to start this course, just the curiosity and compassion to gain your foundations as non-directive ADHD coach.

The Next Course dates are:

Sessions 1 - 6:    May 1st 2025 to July 17th 2025 (with no session on 29th May)

Meet your facilitators

Dr Alex Conner

Alex is a Honorary Professor at Aston University and he was trained in coaching at Warwick University in 2013 under Professor Bob Thomson (who wrote a number of well known books on coaching).

Alex has combined his experience as an adult with ADHD, an ADHD coach and a brain scientist to become a trusted voice in psychoeducation in the ADHD community.

Alex is sometimes known as“The Psychoeducation Monkey, as the co-founder and co-host of one of the UK’s most popular ADHD podcasts: ‘The ADHD Adults’. The podcast is one of the ways in which Alex (with his friend and colleague James Brown), communicate the complex evidence behind the causes and treatments of ADHD. Together they combat stigma and disinformation around ADHD and co-founded the registered advocacy and psychoeducational charity “ADHDadultUK” and their evidence-based online magazine for adults with ADHD, Focusmag.uk.

Alex has published research papers, blogs and newspaper articles on ADHD. After recently moving from a full-time academic post, Alex spends his time as an honorary Professor at Aston University, an ADHD coach and supports the design and delivery of ADHD training to thousands of people both online and face-to-face.

Sally Cater EMCC

Qualified to the ILM highest level in Advanced Coaching and Mentoring, Sally is an Accredited Senior Practitioner Coach with the EMCC.  In a previous life, whilst working in the British Red Cross Sally trained teams to provide psychosocial support to people in crisis.

With over 2000 hours coaching individuals and teams across industries such as technology, healthcare and automotive Sally brings a whole self approach to non-directive coaching.

Sally has found herself drawn towards supporting those with neuro-diverse diagnoses, and funnily enough, these individuals have been drawn to her as well. 2 years ago, she worked as a coach for a senior woman leader who had received a late diagnosis of ADHD. In their initial conversations, she recognised her own lack of knowledge about ADHD and its impact on individuals.

Interestingly, during this learning journey, she uncovered her own ADHD. It became evident that the symptoms and traits of ADHD resonated with her own experiences. As she has journeyed through menopause, she has discovered more about her own symptoms, which may explain why they have had such a powerful connection.

Sally is an award-winning specialist coach who helps people build trusting relationships. With 30 years of experience working with leaders and developing people, she was most recently recognised by her peers for her ability to build outstanding, courageous relationships.
